Packager and case logistics

The Harvester fills retail packages. The Packager exchanges the completed case-tray and returns it to HIVE without interrupting the complete farm workflow.

Sixteen-package case-tray

Fruit enters its retail package in the field.

The reference case-tray uses a four-by-four arrangement of standard packages. Each position is indexed, sensed, and weighed so the system can record occupancy, package weight, and the history of every accepted fruit.

Indexed placement

Repeatable package positions allow the arms to place fruit without searching for the package opening.

Per-package record

Weight, occupancy, plant association, time, and case identity remain linked.

Cleanable surfaces

Food-contact and adjacent components are designed around drainage, removal, and sanitation.

Near-full dispatch

The Packager arrives before the Harvester stops.

When the final package begins filling, HIVE dispatches the Packager. The exchange interface is intended to self-align, lock, transfer the completed cassette, install an empty cassette, confirm identity, and release.

The trailer and Packager must share the Harvester’s field path, track adjustment, clearance assumptions, and turning envelope.

Dedicated transport robot

A related machine, optimized for material flow.

The Packager does not need harvesting manipulators. It needs reliable docking, a protected case-transfer mechanism, enough carrying capacity for the chosen workflow, and unambiguous status communication to HIVE.
